Abstract

The study aimed to identify the effect of the interaction between the two types of digital video (fragmented / connected) and the cognitive style (independent / dependent) in an electronic learning environment on the development of database skills for students of educational technology. The study group was limited to (40) students, the first group studying (20 students) using the split digital video method, while the second group (20 students) studied using the continuous digital video method. And square Eta 2n, the results of the study showed that there are differences with regard to the use of digital video (fragmented) versus digital video (connected) in favor of segmented digital video, and that there are differences with regard to the cognitive style variable (independent) of the cognitive domain versus (dependent) on the cognitive domain in favor of the style Cognitive (independent) of the field in both the cognitive and skill performance of database skills, and there is a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of gain in the skill performance due to the effect of the interaction between the two types of digital video (fragmented / connected) and the cognitive style of students (independent / accredited) for the cognitive field.
