Abstract

The current research aimed to develop listening to reading skills and linguistic sense among linguistically gifted students in the preparatory stage by teaching an enrichment unit in reading using the iterative inquiry approach, To achieve the aim of the research, two tests of listening to reading skills and linguistic sense were built, and they were applied to a sample of second grade preparatory linguistically gifted students in the preparatory schools of  El-Kharga city , they numbered (forty) pupils, The results of the search resulted in a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the pre and post applications of the two tests in favor of the post application of the experimental group, as the research took the experimental design with one group, and the differences between the results of the pre and post applications of the experimental group in the tests of listening to reading skills and linguistic sense came as a function statistically at the level of significance (0.01) in favor of the post application. This indicates the effectiveness of the proposed unit to develop listening to reading skills and the linguistic sense of the linguistically gifted students of the second preparatory year.
