Effectiveness of a Teaching Model based on Contextual Theory in teaching Arabic to Developing Analytical Reading Skills Among High School Female Students
The current research is to develop the analytical reading skills of the female students of the first secondary grade, and to achieve the goal of the study, it is required to build a teaching model based on contextual theory in teaching Arabic. To achieve the study objective, the researcher adopted the experimental method based on semi-experimental design relying on two groups: experimental and control. In addition, a number of tools and research materials were designed, which are: a list of analytical reading skills, analytical reading test, a teaching model based on the contextual theory. The study sample consisted of (39) first
grade female students in the governorate of Al-Majmaah, as the number of the experimental group was (19), while the number of female students in the control group was (20). The study reached a conclusion that there were statistically significant differences at the significance level of (0.05) between the average scores of the experimental group students and the control group in the post analytical reading test in the verbal side and the intellectual side in favour of the experimental group. And there were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) between the average scores of the experimental group students and the control group in the post-analytical reading test in the taste side. In light of the study results, it is recommended that attention is necessary in developing the skills of analytical reading, and employing programs, models and strategies stemmed from modern linguistic theories, in addition to building the curricula of the Arabic language and organising them in accordance with their educational applications.
