A program Based on the Dimensions of wisdom in Teaching History to Develop some skills of Realistic Thinking and Decision-Making of first-year preparatory Stage students

Abstract

     The aim of the current research is to develop some realistic thinking and decision-making skills of first year preparatory Stage students, by preparing a program based on the dimensions of wisdom in teaching social studies.
A list of the dimensions of wisdom needed for the students "research group" was drawn up, which included three (3) main dimensions and (15) sub-dimensions. A list of realistic thinking skills was also prepared, which included (5) main skills and (16) sub-skills. The research consisted of (80) students of the first year of prepratory school (controled and experimental), and it was applied in the first semester of the academic year 2022 - 2023 AD.
- The researcher followed the descriptive, analytical and quasi-experimental approach in designing the research tools, which consisted of the realistic thinking test and the decision-making skills scale for the students of the research group.
      Through the pre and post application of the research tools on the research group, the results showed the effectiveness of the program based on the dimensions of wisdom in teaching history in developing some skills of realistic thinking and decision-making of first-year preparatory students. Through its content, it focused on developing the dimensions of wisdom and wise thinking skills of students, and not only interest in the acquisition of knowledge and facts.
