The effectiveness of using the FATA super-learning model in teaching science to develop Cognitive achievement and higher-order thinking kills of sixth graders

Abstract

 The current research aimed at identifying the effectiveness of using super learning model FATA for teaching science to improve six-grade students’ Cognitive achievement and high thinking skills. The research sample included a group of six-grade students in Experimental School, Damietta governorate. It’s composed of 76 students, divided into 38 students in the experimental group and 38 students in the adjusted group. The research tools and contents included an Cognitive achievement test and high-thinking skills test in the unit of “ Thermal Energy “ in six grade science curriculum, first term, 2022-2023 academic year. Teacher’s guide is prepared for teaching the unit by using super learning model FATA. The research results show the effectiveness of using super learning model FATA for teaching science to improve six-grade students’ Cognitive achievement and high thinking skills. The research presents a number of recommendations such as: organizing training courses given by the experts in teaching science field to train teachers to use super learning and its models in teaching, preparing guides for science teachers in order to help them teach using models based on super learning, and the necessity of improving high thinking skills in science in different educational stages.
