A brain-based learning program in acquiring scientific concepts and problem solving ability for students in the seventh grade of basic education

Abstract

    The aim of the research is to identify the effectiveness of an educational program based on brain-based learning to acquire scientific concepts and problem solving ability for students in the seventh grade of basic education, and the researcher used the quasi-experimental approach based on the design of two groups; an experimental and the other is a controlled group of grade 7 of the  students of basic education at Tahhnsha Preparatory School in Minya; including  70 enrolled students for the 2018/2019 academic year.
The results of the study found out that the effectiveness of the educational program based on brain-based learning in acquiring scientific concepts and problem solving ability as well as a positive correlation between scientific concepts and problem solving ability for members of the experimental group. The study recommends the importance of emphasizing the use of brain-based learning in teaching science at the basic education stages, and training teachers to use Brain-based teaching strategies, with the attention to classroom and extracurricular activities with its enrichment programs for the development and acquisition of scientific concepts and problem solving ability for pupils in the basic education stage.
