A program based on psycholinguistics to develop oral linguistic performance skills for fifth grade primary students

Abstract

The aim of the current research is to develop the skills of oral linguistic performance in the speaking aspect of fifth grade pupils using a program based on psycholinguistics. To achieve the above, the researcher used the descriptive and semi-experimental approaches. Fifth grade, the effectiveness ratios for oral linguistic performance skills (the productive side: speaking) were (1.36), and this indicates that the effect size of the program was large, and that the program made an improvement in the development of oral linguistic performance skills. The research recommended paying attention to the development of oral linguistic performance skills (The productive aspect: speaking) In the first grades of the primary stage, the focus in the curriculum appears largely in written performance, the use of new approaches, and teaching strategies based on psycholinguistics; To develop students' linguistic performance skills, diversify the methods of evaluating oral linguistic performance skills (the productive side: speaking) among students, and diversify the situations through which oral linguistic performance skills are developed, between (guidance, discussing a problem, and express an opinion).
