Developing Faculties of Education Role in the Development of Civil Culture Among their Students in the light of its Objectives

Abstract

The current study aimed at stating the factual status of civil culture among Faculties of Education students at Sohag University and suggesting a proposal  for developing Faculties of Education role in the development of civil culture among its students in the light of its objectives. The two researchers utilized the descriptive method adopting a questionnaire as an instrument for their research which was administrated on (960) male and female students at Sohag Fcaulty of Education as considered one of the greatest  faculties in Arab republic of Egypt. The research was delimited to the four constituents of civil culture : citizenship , volunteer work, human rights, and political culture.
The results of research revealed that : the awareness of the subjects of research and their knowledge of the concepts of civil culture and its constituents and their acquisition of some civil skills  to a greater extent as their ability to work in a team while they have other civil skills to a moderate extent as their ability to expressing their satisfaction and their ability to criticize the wrong policies and  administrating college to help colleagues. Regarding civil value and virtues , the value of refuse differentiating among students for their religious and social bases was in the first place . Also, the results of study revealed that there is positive trends towards hometown and a feeling of belonging among most of the subjects of research . As regard the role of staff members in developing the civil culture of their students , the results of research concluded that  there is a positive role and another negative one towards developing the civil culture of students regarding staff members, college administration, and courses. According the theoretical part  of research , the civil study, and the results of literature review , the two researchers proposed a suggested prospective for developing the Faculties of Education role in developing the civil culture among their students in the light of its objectives.
