Enrichment Activities based on Met, Reading Comprehension to develop Explanatory writing skills and cultural intelligence among students at Al Ain University in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi

Abstract

       The concept of Met, Reading Comprehension has gained widespread attention and spread in educational circles recently in the early twenty-first century, due to the role this concept plays in employing and supporting ideas, facts, and theories about learning and improving its nature. This increases the learner’s ability to evaluate the understanding of the read text and comprehend its ambiguous and puzzling parts at the same time, and raises the level of accuracy of this understanding, and the ability to make judgments regarding what is being learned or the tasks being performed. From this standpoint, the current research aimed to design a number of enrichment activities in the Arabic language based on Met, Reading Comprehension, and determine their effectiveness in developing expository writing skills and promoting cultural intelligence among students at Al Ain University in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. The study sample consisted of (50 ) A male and female student from Al Ain University who are studying the Arabic language course - as a university requirement - in the second semester of the academic year 2022-2023 AD. The research used the descriptive approach in preparing the theoretical framework, and the research tools represented in the expository writing skills test, the cultural intelligence scale, and analyzing the results. And its interpretation. The experimental method was also used in the field part represented by the one-group experimental design. The results of the research resulted in the effectiveness of enrichment activities in the Arabic language based on Met, Reading Comprehension in developing expository writing and cultural intelligence among the research group. The results also showed the existence of a relationship A positive, direct correlation between the growth of expository writing and cultural intelligence among the research sample.              
       The research recommended the need to pay attention to preparing enrichment activities in light of processes Met, Reading Comprehension while teaching Arabic language program courses to university students. Which develops their ability to acquire the knowledge and linguistic skills contained in the linguistic and literary courses at the university and to interact with them successfully using their diverse and multiple intelligences.
