Abstract

The current research aimed to identify the impact of designing an e-learning environment based on mental maps and its impact on the motivation to learn and achievement attainment in the subject of research skills and information sources among third-grade of high school students. An experimental approach was used for this research. The researchers designed an e-learning environment based on mental maps through the Madrasati platform. The researchers also designed an achievement test and a "motivation to learn" measure. The research sample included (60) students randomly from the third grade of high school students. The research sample was divided into two groups: the first was an experimental, consisting of (30) students who studied using the e-learning environment based on mental maps through the Madrasati platform, and the second group was a control group, consisting of (30) students who studied traditionally. After conducting research, it was found that there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups of students in the achievement test and the "motivation to learn" measure in favor of the experimental group.
