Servant leadership of Academic Departments Heads and its ‎Relationship to Professional Development Among Demonstrators and ‎Assistant Lecturers at the Faculty of Education, Ain Shams University: ‎A field study

Abstract

The current research aims to identify the theoretical foundations of servant leadership as well as professional development in light of contemporary educational literature, and to identify the reality of the practice of servant leadership among heads of academic departments at the Faculty of Education, Ain Shams University from the point of view of Demonstrators and assistant Lecturers, as well as the professional development of Demonstrators and assistant Lecturers at the Faculty of Education, Ain Shams University, from their point of view, and also the nature of the relationship between the servant leadership of academic departments heads and the professional development of Demonstrators and assistant Lecturers at the Faculty of Education, Ain Shams University, and then arriving at proposed procedures to activate the servant leadership of academic department heads in achieving professional development for the Demonstrators and assistant Lecturers in the Faculty of Education- Ain Shams University, the current research relied on the descriptive, correlational approach. The research also relied on the questionnaire as a tool for collecting and interpreting data to reach accurate scientific results, after the study Community consisted of (206) Demonstrators and assistant Lecturers, and the study sample consisted of (137) Demonstrators and assistant Lecturers. The research also relied on exploratory interviews, The search arrived to proposed procedures to activate the servant leadership of academic department heads in achieving professional development for Demonstrators and assistant Lecturers at the Faculty of Education, Ain Shams University.
