Design thinking methodology as an introduction to developing social innovation skills From an Islamic perspective

Abstract

The research aimed to provide procedural mechanisms for employing the design thinking methodology, as an approach to developing social innovation skills among university students from an Islamic perspective. The researcher used the descriptive approach and the deductive approach, and reached many results, including: The Islamic approach is an integrated educational approach in developing social innovation skills, which is characterized by integration and comprehensiveness; It consists of mental, moral and social skills, and the goals of social innovation from an Islamic perspective are characterized by a balance between worldly and afterlife goals, and developing social innovation skills among university students has become an educational and social necessity, To achieve sustainable development goals and confront contemporary social challenges, the design thinking methodology also contributes to making the university education environment an interactive environment for generating innovative ideas and solutions.. In light of the results, the researcher recommended the need to enhance community participation between universities and scientific research centers by activating social innovation incubators, and the need for educational institutions - especially universities - to apply the design thinking methodology and include it in educational curricula. With the aim of developing social innovation skills.
