The effectiveness of fun learning strategies in developing historical understanding, mental alertness, and engagement in learning history among primary school students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Abstract

 
     The aim of the current research was to investigate the effectiveness of fun learning strategies in developing historical understanding, Mindfulness, and engagement in learning history among primary school students with attention deficit disorder accompanied by hyperactivity. The research group consisted of (18) male and female students from the sixth grade of primary school at Al Khor Qebli Joint Primary School. For the Kom Ombo Educational Administration in Aswan Governorate; To implement the research experience during the first semester of the academic year 2022 - 2023 AD, and the problem of the current research was identified in the low level of historical understanding, Mindfulness, and engagement in learning history among the students in the research group, and it relied on the methodological: descriptive, experimental, and a set of results were reached, including: There was a statistically significant difference at the level of (0.05) between the average ranks of the research group’s students’ scores in the pre- and post-applications of the test: historical understanding, and the two scales: Mindfulness and engagement in learning history, in favor of the post-application. The adjusted gain percentage for “Blake” was also acceptable in relation to growth. Historical understanding, Mindfulness, engagement in learning history, and the magnitude of the effect of fun learning strategies on the research variables as measured using the (rrb) value was high, and based on the research results, the researcher recommended the need to reformulate and organize the units of the history curriculum in the primary stage according to “fun learning strategies.”, and holding training programs for social studies teachers; With the aim of providing them with the necessary skills and competencies to use these strategies successfully in teaching, and to direct the attention of those responsible for preparing manuals for history teachers in the primary stage to the necessity of providing them with modern teaching methods and strategies, including: fun learning strategies.
