Studying the effect of a counseling program on improving awareness of mental giftedness among primary school teachers in terms of some demographic variables.

Abstract

The current research aimed to improve awareness of the primary stage’s causes of mental giftedness among its students, and also to identify differences in teachers’ awareness of mental giftedness according to some demographic variables: academic qualification, level of experience, type of school, place of work, and place of living. The study sample consisted of (400) female teachers with an average My age is (38.6) and the standard deviation is (4.36). The researcher used the quasi-experimental method, and the research tool was prepared: a measure of awareness of mental giftedness (prepared by the researcher) and a guidance program to improve awareness of mental giftedness among primary school teachers in light of some demographic variables. The results of the research concluded that: The level of awareness of primary school teachers improved significantly in the post and follow-up measurements, and the results also revealed that there are no statistically significant differences between the average scores of primary school teachers in awareness of mental giftedness among primary school students according to academic qualification, years of experience, type of school, and workplace (city – Village), while the results of the research showed statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between the average scores of female teachers in awareness of mental giftedness according to the variable of place of living in favor of female teachers who live in the city.
