A developmental vision for Science curricula In Preparatory Stage ‎In light of Dimensions of sustainable development

Abstract

The study aimed at establishing a developmental vision for the science curricula in the preparatory stage In light of the Dimensions of sustainable development. This was done by preparing a list of sustainable development dimensions containing three main dimensions, that fall under each of them a number of dimensions and sub-indicators . The descriptive approach "content analysis method" was used . The results of the study showed the deficiencies and weakness of the inclusion of science curricula for the dimensions of sustainable development, especially the environmental and economic dimension, followed by the social dimension. The study provided a developmental vision for the topics that can be added to the science curricula in the second and third preparatory grades to work on developing the dimensions of sustainable development . The study ended by presenting a set of recommendations and proposals.
