Positive psychological interventions based on gratitude

Abstract

      Maximizing the positive traits of an individual has a guiding and therapeutic role. In light of this, what is called positive psychological counseling or what is known as positive trait counseling has emerged, each of which can be an effective guiding and therapeutic method in improving the condition of the person being guided and treating him, as in the case of counseling with (will). -Hope - Optimism - Forgiveness - Gratitude). The current research paper deals with positive psychological interventions based on gratitude, with a presentation of the results of some Arab research, which are few. Limited research was conducted in the Saudi and Egyptian environment - to the best of the researchers’ knowledge - and some foreign research was also presented that used this intervention and showed its effectiveness with many psychological and mental problems and disorders, and with different samples and ages. Despite this, there are those who doubt the feasibility of this intervention, and in light of that, this research paper aimed to invite researchers, especially in the Arab environment; To conduct further research and develop counseling and therapeutic programs using gratitude-based interventions in traditional or online formats; To examine their effectiveness in counseling and psychotherapy, and to demonstrate the long-term effects of these interventions and their suitability for different groups and stages.
