Abstract

The current study aimed at identifying the effectiveness of the Effectiveness Of Using Adey & Shayer Model "CASE" In developing geometry thinking skills according to Van Hiele levels for preparatory students. The research was applied on a group of second stage of preparatory students in the first term for the academic year 2023/ 2024 in Abu- Baker El- Sadek school for basic education. The participants were (90) students: (45) in the experimental group and (45) in the control group. The instruments were: skills of geometry thinking list, a student book in (triangle averages and Isosceles triangle) unit after being updated according to Adey and Shayer Model, a teacher guide to teach this unit using Adey& Shayer Model, and geometry thinking skills test. The results revealed that there is a significant statistical difference between the mean scores of both experimental and control group in favor of the experimental group in developing geometry thinkings skills according to van Hiele levels: visual level- analytical level-informal inference level and formal inference level. The research represents number of recommendations including: paying attention to Adey and Shayer Model which aims at blending students into life situations and developing geometry thinking for preparatory students.
