The role of colleges of education in spreading the culture of green education enhanced by green technology and awareness of climate citizenship among future teachers

The study aimed to spread the culture of green education enhanced by green technology among students of colleges of education, future teachers, and to spread the culture of climate citizenship awareness among students of colleges of education, future teachers, through the teacher preparation program provided by colleges of education to their students in all academic specializations, who will in turn undertake to spread the culture of green education and climate citizenship awareness among their students at different educational stages, from kindergarten to the end of secondary school, in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development in light of the goals of Egypt's Vision 2030. The study clarified the reality of education and climate change in Egypt, the philosophy of green education, and the relationship between green education and climate citizenship awareness. Then, the proposed procedures were presented to enhance the role of colleges of education in spreading the culture of green education enhanced by green technology and climate citizenship awareness among future teachers, including changing the vision of the college of education in the current era, as well as the goals of green education in colleges of education, in addition to providing an educational environment that enhances the concept of green education or sustainable development and contributes to preparing student teachers, and that the role of the teacher preparation program in colleges of education - with its four aspects - is to spread the culture of green education enhanced by green technology among student teachers.
