Developing the Administrative Performance of Academic Leaders at Sohag University in Light of Enlightened Leadership Dimensions

Abstract

This Research Aimed at Identifying The Current State of Academic Leaders' Performance at Sohag University in Light of The Dimensions of Enlightened Leadership from The Perspective of Faculty Members. It also Sought to Explore The Impact of Variables Such as Gender, Faculty, and Academic Rank on Their Perceptions. to Address The Research Problem, The Descriptive Approach Was Employed. The Study Sample Consisted of all Faculty Members at Sohag University During The Academic Year 2024/2025, Totaling 521 Participants. A Questionnaire Was Used as A Data Collection Tool, Comprising 72 Items. The Findings Revealed That The Degree of Practicing Enlightened Leadership Dimensions By Academic Leaders at Sohag University Was Moderate Across all Dimensions. No Statistically Significant Differences Were Found in The Average Responses of The Sample Members at The 0.05 Level Regarding The Dimensions of Enlightened Leadership Based on The Gender Variable. However, Statistically Significant Differences Were Observed at The 0.01 Level Based on The Faculty Variable. Significant Differences Were also Found in The Average Responses of The Sample Members Concerning The Dimensions of Enlightened Leadership Based on The Academic Rank Variable, With Higher Academic Ranks Demonstrating Greater Alignment With Enlightened Leadership Dimensions. The Study Recommended Several Key Actions, Including Emphasizing The Adoption of Enlightened Leadership Dimensions and Behaviors Within The University Work System to Positively Impact Work Productivity and Achieve Competitive Excellence. It also Recommended Organizing Workshops and Training Sessions to Clarify The Concepts, Dimensions, and Importance of Enlightened Leadership in Improving The Quality of University Work.
