The quality of working life and its relationship to the Organizational Commitment of faculty members at Umm Al-Qura University

Abstract

The study aimed to reveal the reality of the quality of career among faculty members at Umm Al-Qura University and its relationship with the job commitment of members at the University , and to achieve this goal, the research used a descriptive approach by applying a questionnaire distributed to a sample of 135 faculty members at Umm Al-Qura University, the most important results were that the arithmetic mean of the dimensions of the quality of career by 2.4 and a standard deviation: 1.21 where it turns out that the overall average of the dimensions reflects an average level of overall satisfaction with the quality of career , Also, the faculty members at Umm Al-Qura University assess the dimensions of job commitment differently, and the correlation between the two variables, the research found that there is a strong positive relationship between career quality and organizational commitment. As the quality of career increases by one unit, the organizational commitment is expected to increase by 0.789 units, which indicates the strength of the impact.Therefore, the research recommended a number of recommendations, including the need to enhance the empowerment and participation of faculty members, while working to activate participation in decision-making, improving material working conditions, in addition to reviewing the remuneration and remuneration policies for faculty members
