The Effectiveness of Utilizing Proposed Activities in Enhancing Water and Environmental Awareness Among Primary School Students in the Context of the Blue Economy

Abstract

Water and environmental pollution are among the most significant challenges facing humanity in the present era. This pollution is caused by human activities and ultimately has a direct impact on people. Therefore, it is essential to raise awareness among young children and instill in them proper behavioral practices to prevent water and environmental pollution, ensuring a better quality of life. The study aims to investigate the effectiveness of utilizing certain activities to enhance water and environmental awareness among primary school students within the framework of the blue economy. The researchers adopted the descriptive method to review the literature related to the study and employed the quasi-experimental method using a one-group experimental design (pre-test – post-test). The study sample consisted of 30 male and female students. The study found that the use of the proposed activities is effective in enhancing water and environmental awareness among primary school students within the framework of the blue economy  Transitioning to the blue economy effectively supports the opportunities for life and its sustainability. It is essential to foster water and environmental awareness among children from an early age, enabling them to adopt a good lifestyle for managing water and environmental resources. There is a need to develop consumption rationalization behaviors to preserve water and environmental resources.
