Abstract

The research aimed to identify the effect of teaching biology using the REACT strategy in developing deep understanding among female students in the second year of secondary school. The research relied on the quasi-experimental approach, based on the design of two groups: experimental and control, and the research sample consisted of (41) female students in the second year of secondary school. In a middle and secondary school in Bani Yazid in Al-Laith Governorate, the research tool was built: a deep understanding test in the (Digestion and Endocrinology) unit of the biology course for the second year of secondary school, second semester The results of the research indicated that there is a statistically significant difference at the level (α = 0.05) between the arithmetic averages of the experimental group’s scores and the control group’s scores in the post-application of the deep understanding test among second-year secondary school female students, in favor of the experimental group, and that using the REACT strategy in teaching biology has A large impact on developing deep understanding. In light of this, the researcher presented a number of recommendations, the most prominent of which is adopting the REACT strategy in teaching biology at the secondary level. Because of its great positive impact on developing deep understanding.
