Abstract

The aim of the current study is to evaluate the learning outcomes in the field of reading for middle school students based on the cognitive levels set by the Education and Training Evaluation Commission, from the perspective of 'My Eternal Language' teachers. To achieve this, the researcher used the descriptive survey method and developed a questionnaire consisting of 25 indicators distributed across three domains (knowledge and understanding, application, and inference) to measure the learning outcomes of middle school students. The researcher also verified the validity and reliability of the instrument. After conducting the statistical analysis, the study reached a set of findings, including: The achievement of learning outcomes in reading for middle school students in the level of knowledge, understanding, application, and inference, according to the cognitive levels, was at a moderate level, with a mean score of (1.982) and a standard deviation of (0.700). The results did not reveal a statistically significant difference in the responses of the study sample regarding the evaluation of the degree of achievement of learning outcomes in reading for middle school students according to the cognitive levels, attributed to the gender variable. In view of these results, the researcher provided a set of recommendations.
