Efficient of a training program based on improving the quality of life in enhancing the life skills of people with intellectual disabilities

Abstract

The current study aimed to identify the efficient of a training program based on improving the quality of life in enhancing the life skills of people with intellectual disabilities. The quasi-experimental approach based on two groups was used in the pre- and post-measurements. The study community consisted of all individuals with intellectual disabilities in rehabilitation and care centers in the city of Ta’if. The sample consisted of (30) individuals through age (10-16 years), by means (13) years and slandered deviations (2.43) who were divided into two sections: (15) experimental group and (15) control group. The researcher designed and implemented a training program based on improving the quality of life in enhancing social and personal self-skills consisting of (10) sessions for a month. After collecting data in the pre- and post-measurements, the multiple analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) was applied, the results showed a high efficient of the training program in improving the quality and enhancing life skills, and continues its efficiency after month.  Accordingly, recommendations were made, most notably the need to pay attention to and care for people with intellectual disabilities and improve their quality of life.
