Abstract

The current research aimed to verify the effectiveness of a group counseling program based on play in reducing psychological fragility and developing assertiveness skills among children who are victims of bullying. The basic research sample consisted of (30) male and female students who were divided equally into two groups, one experimental and the other control, with ages ranging between (9-12 years) with an average age of (11.6) years and a standard deviation of (1.947). The psychological fragility scale for children who are victims of bullying was used (prepared by the researcher), the assertive skills scale for children who are victims of bullying (prepared by the researcher), the bullying victims scale (prepared by Radwa Abdel Moneim, 2024) and the counseling program (prepared by the researcher). The results showed that there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups on the psychological fragility scale among children who are victims of bullying in the post-test (in the best direction) in favor of the experimental group. There were also statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group on the psychological fragility scale among children who are victims of bullying in the pre-test and post-test (in the best direction) in favor of the post-test. There were also statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups on the assertiveness skills scale among children who are victims of bullying in the post-test in favor of the experimental group. There were also statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group on the assertiveness skills scale among children who are victims of bullying in the pre-test and post-test in favor of the post-test. There were no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group on the psychological fragility and assertiveness skills scales among children who are victims of bullying in the post-test and follow-up. In light of the research results, the researcher presented a number of research recommendations and proposals.
