THE EXTENT OF EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH SKILLS EMPLOYMENT BY POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS IN THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AT THE ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY

Abstract

     The current study aimed at revealing the extent of research skills employment among postgraduate students in the Department of Education at the Faculty of Da'wah and the Fundamentals of Religion at the Islamic University. The researcher developed a questionnaire consisting of (40) paragraphs applied to a sample of (95) students and (20) faculty members. The study results showed that the overall mean of the total performance on the tool utilized in this research was (3.64) from the students' viewpoint reflecting a high-performance level, and (3.12) from the faculty members’ viewpoint at an average level. The results indicated statistically significant differences between the estimates of the students and faculty members. The results also reflected statistical differences between the postgraduate students in the extent of utilizing various educational research skills according to the academic track, namely research procedures, identifying the problem of research, presentation of the results and discussion, writing recommendations, suggestions and references, and the overall performance of the tool. Nevertheless, there were no differences among the 3 above mentioned tracks with regard to the theoretical frame determination skill and previous studies.
