The Effect of Early Childhood Teaching on the Future of the Child Lifelong Learning: A Field Study

Abstract

The present study aimed to identify the effect of early childhood education on the child's future lifelong learning to improve the teaching quality for the kindergarten child. It also aimed to study the role of kindergarten in fulfilling the requirements of the child's lifelong education, in addition to the obstacle meeting him. The study participants consisted of (104) kindergarten principals, supervisors and teaches who were all randomly selected of kindergarten in Najran city. The descriptive analytical approach was used in the present study. Moreover, an instrument was developed to measure the role of kindergartens in the child's lifelong learning from the viewpoint of kindergartens principals, teachers and supervisors. The developed instrument involved (61) items distributed to five main domains. Previous literature and related studies were reviewed and consulted to build this instrument. Findings revealed that the role of kindergartens was positive in general in activating the kindergarten child's lifelong learning. There were significant differences (α=0.05) between the evaluations of kindergarten's teachers, principals and supervisors with regard to the reality of kindergartens role in activating lifelong learning due to specialty variable. However, no significant differences were found (α=0.05) between the participants' evaluation regarding the kindergarten's procedures to fulfill the future requirements of the child's lifelong learning due to the work variable. Nevertheless, there were significant differences (α=0.05) between the evaluations of all participants in accordance with the benefits of activating lifelong learning in the early childhood due to specialty variable. At the end, the study put forward some recommendations and perceptions to develop the role of kindergarten in the activation of the kindergarten child's lifelong learning in a way that contributes to the improvement of teaching quality at early childhood cycle.
