Abstract

Summary of research
Objective of the research: The objective of the current research to the effectiveness of the strategy of six thinking hats in the teaching of social studies to develop the historical concepts and some habits of mind for students in the first grade preparatory..
Research Methodology: The current research was based on the descriptive approach in: Preparation of the theoretical framework of the research and its tools, analysis of the results, interpretation and recommendations. The researcher also used the semi-empirical approach based on the use of two equal groups.
Research problem: The current research problem was determined by the low level of cognitive achievement of the history course and the electronic communication skills of middle school students due to the lack of the use of electronic media and its use in the teaching and learning of history and the total reliance on teaching this material in the usual way..
Study materials and tools: The researcher prepared the following materials and tools.:
- Study materials:
- A list of historical concepts contained in the unit "History of Egypt through ancient times", which can be developed by the first grade students through teaching using the strategy of six thinking hats.
- A list of the habits of the mind that can be developed by the students of the first grade preparatory through teaching in the unit "History of Egypt through ancient times" according to the strategy of the Six Thinking Hats.
- Student's booklet in the unit "History of Egypt through ancient times", which was prepared in accordance with the Strategy of Six Thinking Hats
- Instructor guide to teaching the unit "History of Egypt through ancient times" using the strategy of six thinking hats
