The effect of a rational counseling and emotional behavioral program in improving emotional intelligence among secondary school students in Maysan province

Abstract

The study amied to the effect of rational emotional behavioral concealing program in developing emotional intelligence among secondary school students in Maysan Governorate. To achieve this goal, the study followed the experimental approach in its semi-empirical design based on two groups: experimental and control. (22 students) and control (25 students), applying the pilot program to the experimental group, and applying the emotional intelligence scale to the total number of students The study found that there were statistically significant differences between the experimental and control groups on the measurement of the emotional intelligence dimension in each of the five dimensions of the scale and its overall grade in favor of the experimental group. The results of the impact size test showed a strong effect of the program on the differences between the two groups. A number of recommendations have been presented to these results, including: Mainstreaming the application of the proposed pilot program through the current study to the Department of Education in Maysan governorate, in order to expand its use in developing the positive aspects of high school students. As they are the most vulnerable groups of adolescents due to the successive psychological and physical changes of that age, and the strength of the influence of the group of comrades, which requires immunization of these students against mental disorder or intellectual deviation, by strengthening their positive aspects such as emotional intelligence; Cuckoos of these disorders
