The Effect of the Visual Thinking Strategy in teaching art education on developing art appreciation among 6th grade students in the City of Riyadh

Abstract

This study aims at identifying the effect of Visual Thinking Strategy in teaching art education on developing art appreciation among 6th grade students in the City of Riyadh. The study sample consisted of (42) female students from the sixth grade. (24) students formed the experimental group and were instructed in the Visual Thinking Strategy; where the other (22) students formed the control group and were taught in the conventional/ traditional method of teaching. A pre- and post-  art appreciation test was conducted on study sample. The study concluded that:
Differences of statistical indication (at indication level  0.05) between students’ average grades in both the experimental group and the control group on the  art appreciation test   existed in favour of the experimental group.
