Abstract

The present study is an attempt to investigate the effectiveness of a group counseling program based on Scuka (2005) program in improving the marital communication skills. To achieve the study's objective, the marital communication scale was translated, standardized, and applied to the experimental group  (11) wives who were trained for (22) counseling sessions; 2 hours each. Then, they were post-tested. Four months later, the follow-up test was conducted. The results revealed that there are statistically significant differences in the experimental group in the pre and post-tests, the overall performance, and the three domains of the scale in favor of the program. However, there are no statistically significant differences in the post and follow-up tests.
