Preferred teaching methods for students to learn social studies for secondary school for the academic year 2018-2019 in Khafji province in Saudi Arabia

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the preferred methods of teaching students at the secondary school to learn social studies in the Governorate of Al Khafji in Saudi Arabia. The study used a questionnaire to collect research data.Statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) was applied to analyze research data and come up with its results. The study found a number of results, notably that high school students are preferring to use a single learning method for teaching social studies, and the results showed that there were no statistically significant differences among student according to the variable gender, average. The study recommended a number of recommendations including make further studies about teaching methods and compared with the preferred ways of secondary phase, as well as it should be make training courses for social studies teachers to train them on teaching methods that preferred and appropriate by students.
