Developing the administrative performance of the scientific departments'''' heads in the Egyption public universities in the light of the organizational intelligence approach

Abstract

The Current research aimed at monitoring the administrative performance of the scientific departments'' heads in order to develop proposed mechanisms to improve it in the light of the organizational intelligence approach. To achieve the objective of the study, a questionnaire consisting of (48) statements was prepared to measure  the organizational intelligence''s level of the scientific departments in the Egyption  public universities in the Arab Republic of Egypt. The questionnaire include seven dimensions of organizational intelligence and was distributed to random sample of(320) heads of scientific departments and teaching staff and their assistants at (16) faculties in Fayoum, Minya and Ain Shams universities.The study concluded that the  organizational intelligence''s performance level with its seven dimensions (Strategic vision, common destiny, desire for change, heart, harmony and appropriateness, dissemination of Knowledge, pressure of organizational intelligence) of scientific departments'' heads in the Egyptian  public universities is low.The study recommended the need to review the criteria selecting and appointing the scientific departments'' heads and to rehabilitate and train the present heads of scientific department. In addition, it''s necessary to improve the quality of the  professional career  in scientific departments.
