The Degree of Motivation of Faculty Members to Develop Mechanisms of Self-Assessment and Academic Accreditation of the Programs for Preparing Lecturers at the Faculty of Education of Saudi Universities in Accordance with CAEP Standards: A Model of Umm Al- Qura University

Abstract

The study aimed at identifying the degree of motivation of faculty members to develop self-assessment mechanisms and academic accreditation of the programs for preparing lecturers at the Faculty of Education at Umm Al- Qura University in accordance with the CAEP standards, specifically toward (developing content and educational knowledge, improving the practice of professional partnership and training, Program impact, increased program quality and continuous improvement). The study used the analytical descriptive method. The study population consisted of faculty members at Umm Al- Qura University. The study was based on the simple random sampling method, and was limited to (82) faculty members. The study tool consisted of a questionnaire consisting of five axes with 48 phrases. The results of the study are: a high degree of motivation for faculty members to develop content and educational knowledge with a total average of (4.1), a high degree of motivation for faculty members towards improving the practice of professional partnership and field training with a total average of (3.8), and a high degree of motivation for faculty members to increase the quality of the program and the continuous improvement with an overall average of the axis (3.98). The study recommended on developing the programs of preparing lecturers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on a continuous basis in accordance with modern developments.
