The Relationship Between Job Security and Academic Performance among Faculty Members of The Education College for Boys, Al-Azhar University, Cairo

Abstract

The study aims to reveal the relationship between job security and academic performance among the faculty members of the Education College for Boys, Al-Azhar University, Cairo. To disclose the differences in their responses about the degree of job security and the level of academic performance according to the job variables and the number of years of experience. To achieve the goal of the study, the relational descriptive approach and its tool , the questionnaire to collect data. The study population consists of (301) members, whereas the study sample consisted of (185) individuals, at a rate of (61.46)% of the parent community.
The study came out with the following results:
- The overall average for job security as a whole came with an average degree of appreciation. The "moral security" ranked first and with a high rating. The second was "ideological security" * with a medium degree of appreciation. The third, before the last was "political security" with a medium degree of appreciation. The fourth and last was "Social Security", with an average score.
- The general average of academic performance came with a high degree of appreciation. "Teaching" came first and with a high degree of appreciation, followed by "scientific research" and with a high degree of appreciation. The third and last was "community service" , with a high degree of appreciation.
- A positive (strong) correlation was found statistically between the reality of job security as a whole and the level of academic performance as a whole.
- There were statistically significant differences between the individual responses of the study sample on the reality of job security in the (moral security) dimension, and the level of academic performance in the (community service) dimension in favor of the position of a faculty member.
