Abstract: The current study aims to build a research map for the specialization of Islamic education foundations in Saudi universities in the light of the 2030 vision through the detection of research needs in the fields from the perspective of faculty members in Saudi universities. The study depended on the descriptive method in addressing its topic, and the researcher designed a questionnaire consisting of four axes including (45) elements related to the fundamentals of Islamic education, and were applied to a sample of faculty members, which included (59) in a number of Saudi universities. The study concluded with a proposed research map for the specialization of Islamic education in Saudi universities in the light of the 2030 vision and identifying research areas and priorities in the specialization of Islamic education, including the intellectual and cultural issues that included the Islamic educational method and its situation from western theories. The social issues included: the elements of volunteer work and social solidarity, the principles of community participation in Islam, values of justice, freedom and equality according to Islamic rules. The political and economic issues included: the requirements of transparency and accountability in education, the role of civil society, future forecasting in Islam, integrity and combating corruption in accordance with Islamic rules. The study recommended the need to develop the specialization and field of Islamic education foundations and to develop its programs and orientations in line with national and international developments, in addition to identifying scientific mechanisms to implement the proposed research map.
