Abstract

Research Summary
This research aims to identify the life skills that contribute to achieving sustainable development. It also aims to define the concept of sustainable development and its goals and to define the mechanisms necessary to enable secondary education students from life skills in the light of the sustainable development goals.
Research problem :
Numerous studies have indicated that the level of life skills acquisition has decreased for pre-university education students as education has become merely obtaining a certificate instead of acquiring skills and abilities. Also, the high school does not qualify students sufficiently to become productive members of society and to manage their daily lives and manage themselves and adapt to the labor market With its variables and requirements.
Research Methodology:
The current research relied on the descriptive analytical approach, and the researcher used the SWOT method, which is a strategic analysis tool. The research relied on two tools, the first tool is a measure of life skills for high school students, and the second tool is a questionnaire addressed to teachers about sustainable development, its concept, life skills supporting it and the requirements of its achievement.
The study ended with a set of results, including:
1-     That high school students possess life skills well and above average, but they do not reach the level of mastery.
2-      That one of the obstacles to sustainable development is the lack of clarity of the concept and goals of sustainable development for teachers
3-     One of the factors that students lack of sustainability skills is their lack of daily life management skills and their labor market skills and self-management skills. The study ended with a set of mechanisms to enable high school students to have life skills in the light of the sustainable development goals.
