A Proposed Unit in the Light of Interdisciplinary Approach for Developing Water Awareness for fifth Grade Primary Students

Abstract

The study aimed at studying the effect of a proposed unit in the light of interdisciplinary approach on developing water awareness for fifth primary students. The study prepared a proposed unit based on bases which are: interdisciplinary approach, characteristics of primary students, and the needs of Egyptian society at this age. Scientific stations strategy and reader's theater strategy were used in teaching a proposed unit, The study took place on fifth grade primary students. Results showed there are statistically significant differences between the means of scores of the students in the (water comprehension test– attitude scale toward water issues – Ability to take a position in life situations test) before and after the application of the proposed unit in favor of the post application.
            The results showed by using T-Test for dependent samples and calculated the impact size that the Proposed unit had a positive effect  on developing the water awareness . Results were discussed and presented recommendations related to the results of the study; the researchers also suggested making further studies and researches.
