Effectiveness of Family Counselling Program in decreasing Reactive Attachment Disorder of Abused Kindergarten children

Abstract

      Reactive attachment disorder refers to a deficit in social relationships between a child and caregivers because of child abuse and neglecting his basic needs. This study aimed at providing a family counseling program for decreasing reactive attachment disorder of Abused Kindergarten children. Sample consisted of (17) abused children (11 male and 6 female) with average age (16.12) months and standard deviation (3.89) months, Another sample from parents consisted of 17 (4 fathers and 13 mothers) who represented the parents of experimental group. Instruments of the study were applied: Abused Kindergarten child Scale (prepared by the researchers), Reactive Attachment Disorder Scale (Abu Almagd, M., & Thabet, A., 2016), Slosson Intelligence Test-Reviced ) SIT-R ) (El Beheiry, A., &Abu Almagd, M., 2011), and the counseling program which consisted of (21) sessions. Results indicated the effectiveness of family counseling program in decreasing reactive attachment disorder of Abused Kindergarten children.
