The relative contribution of the five major factors of personality in predicting the ability of personal strategic planning for female students of King Khalid University, Saudi Arabia

Abstract

The aim of the current research is to determine the relative contribution of the big five factors of personality in predicting the ability of personal strategic planning among university students, and to reveal the differences between high and low of the big five factors of personality in personal strategic planning, and to examine the relationship between personal strategic planning and the cumulative average of a sample of university students King Khalid. To achieve the objectives of the research, the researcher adopted the scale of the five major factors in personality (prepared by Al-Ruwaita, 2007), and prepared the scale of personal strategic planning, to apply them to a sample of (120) female students from the Department of Psychology, College of Education, King Khalid University in Saudi Arabia, and the descriptive correlative approach was used. , due to its relevance to the nature of the research and its objectives, and the results concluded: that only one of the five major personality factors, which is the (Conscientiousness) factor, contributes to predicting the ability to personal strategic planning, and that the most prevalent of the five major personality factors was the openness to experience and the least extroversion factor for the members of the current sample, the most prevalent dimensions of personal strategic planning is after setting goals and priorities, followed by planning management and finally time management. The results also showed that there were statistically significant differences between high and low factors (Conscientiousness and Agreeableness) in the ability of personal strategic planning among the sample members, and there was also a positive, statistically significant correlation between personal strategic planning and the cumulative average of the sample students.
