A Proposed Strategy for Activating Good Governance Standards in Egyptian Universities “Tanta University as a Model”

Abstract
The research aims at developing a proposed strategy for activating good governance standards at Tanta University, as a model of Egyptian Universities. To achieve this aim, the research employed the descriptive method to describe the degree of availability of good governance standards and its obstacles at Tanta University. It also used SWOT analysis to formulate the proposed strategy. The research followed the following procedural steps:
• Step One: defining the general framework of the research (through shedding light on its problem, objectives, importance, methodology, limitations and steps, as well as defining the main terms in the research).
• Step Two: identifying the theoretical framework of the research which included a presentation of the intellectual foundations of university good governance approach in the light of contemporary educational administrative thought “normative theoretical framework.”
• Step Three:  Building the proposed strategy for activating good governance standards at Tanta University by following these sub-steps:

Describing the “field study” procedures to determine the degree of availability of good governance standards at Tanta University and the main obstacles hindering their application.
Conducting qualitative analysis to assess elements of the internal and external environment affecting the governance of Egyptian public universities (the first step of strategic analysis).
Conducting field quantitative analysis to assess elements of the internal and external environment affecting the governance of Tanta University as well as their impact and sustainability.  Furthermore, establishing SWOT matrix, identifying strategic options and directions and selecting the most suitable for the proposed strategy (the second step of strategic analysis).
Developing a suggested implementation plan to achieve the proposed strategic goals and objectives to activate good governance standards at Tanta University (during the period 2022-2027).
Presenting the proposed strategy to a number of professional professors to determine its suitability for achieving its objectives.
