Requirements to Achieve Digital Transformation for Saudi Universities: A Case Study (The University of Hail)

Abstract

            The world is going through a great technological transformation, and digitization has become the global trend that is sweeping all societies, and the traditional economy has moved to digital transformation, and it has become imperative for universities to meet the needs of digital transformation in order to keep pace with global developments, as well as with the Kingdom’s vision 2030, and the study sample was limited to the University of Hail, as the university in which the researcher works.
The study used the descriptive approach and used a questionnaire tool that was directed to a sample of 200 faculty members from university leaders at all levels: Department head, college vice-dean, and college dean. The field study aimed to determine the degree of availability of each of the elements that the university needs to achieve the requirements of digital transformation.
 The study reached a number of results, the most important of which is that the degree of availability of each of the elements needed by the digital transformation at the University of Hail is well available, reaching 65.48%, and there are statistically significant differences in the scientific degree in favor of a professor’s degree, and in gender in favor of males.
