A future vision for developing digital education competencies among faculty members at Aswan University within the framework of university education enhanced by the techniques of The Fourth Industrial Revolution

Abstract

The current research aimed to develop a future vision for the development of digital education competencies among faculty members in Egyptian universities within the framework of university education enhanced by the techniques of the fourth industrial revolution. The research relied on the descriptive approach, and the research used a questionnaire to measure the availability of digital education competencies among faculty members at Aswan University within the framework of university education enhanced by the techniques of the fourth industrial revolution (artificial intelligence, cloud computing, Internet of things, augmented reality technology) in university teaching, and the most important training needs necessary to be able to use them with high efficiency and competence, the results of the field study revealed that the members of the Authority did not possess most of the digital education competencies necessary to use the techniques of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in the fields of (Artificial intelligence, Cloud computing, Internet of things, and Augmented reality) and their need for training on those digital competencies. The research is to formulate a future vision to develop the competencies of digital education for faculty members in Egyptian universities within the framework of university education enhanced by the techniques of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and to build a matrix of the most important training programs necessary for faculty members in light of their training needs.
