The effectiveness of a proposed Treatment Program based on assessment strategies for learning in treating history learning disabilities for first year middle school students

Abstract

    The aim of the current research is to identify the effectiveness of a proposed Treatment program based on assessment strategies for learning (AFL) in treating history learning disabilities for first year preparatory students. The researcher prepared a list of the disabilities of learning history and a diagnostic test to measure the disabilities of learning history and apply it to a sample of students in the first preparatory grade amounting to (65) female students at Kafr Saad Preparatory School for Girls in Damietta Governorate to identify students with disabilities learning history. a proposed treatment program based on evaluation strategies has been prepared. In order to learn to treat the disabilities of learning history among students of the first year of middle school and an achievement test in the unit (History of Egypt through Antiquity) and apply it tribally on the students of the research sample, which consisted of (6) students in the first year of middle school, where the arithmetic average of the research sample scores reached (8.65) by Percentage (21.63%) and the treatment program was applied and the achievement  posttest, the scores were monitored and treated statistically. The results showed the effectiveness of the proposed program in treating history learning disabilities among the students of the research sample, where the arithmetic average of the students of the research sample was (24.16) by a percentage (60.4%). The (z) value of the disabilities between the ranks of the mean scores of the research sample was (2.3), which is statistically significant at (0.05), and the program's effect size was (r) (0.89), which is a large effect size.
