Abstract

The study aimed to identify the degree of practicing academic professionalism among department chairs and Its relation to faculty staff morale as perceived by staff members in University Colleges in Tabuk University. To accomplish the study goals, the descriptive-analytical method was used, with its both survey and correlational research techniques. a representative sample was selected using the random sampling technique consisted of (86) faculty members, during the second semester of the 1442 Academic year. The results showed that the degree of practicing academic professionalism among department chairs was law, and the morale level of faculty staff was median. Findings also showed that there was positive correlational relationship between the degree of practicing academic professionalism among department chairs and the faculty staff morale in university Colleges. The study suggests adopting the academic professionalism as a new leadership style in leading academic department as well as providing an academic environment that leads to increase the level of morale of faculty members in their departments.
