Abstract

Research title: the effectiveness of counseling program based on the dimensions of self-compassion to reduce nostalgia among displaced Nubians.
The aim of the research: was to verify the effectiveness of the counseling program based on the dimensions of self-compassion to reduce nostalgia for the past among displaced Nubians.
 Research sample: the experimental sample consisted of (14) displaced Nubians and this sample was randomly divided into two (7) experimental and (7) control groups after confirming the parity of the two groups.
Research tools:  the nostalgia scale of El-Nasr and El-Gendy (2022) was used, as well as Preparation of a counseling program based on the dimensions of self-compassion used in the current research.
Research methodology: The research was based on Semi-experimental approach.
Research results: There were statistically significant differences between the means scores of experimental group and control group at post-test on nostalgia. These differences in favor of control group. there were statistically significant differences between the means scores of experimental group at the pre-test and post-test nostalgia. These differences in favor of pre-test. There were no statistically significant differences between the means scores of experimental group at post-test and follow up-test on nostalgia, The results indicated that the effectiveness of the counseling program based on the self-compassion in reducing nostalgia among displaced Nubians.
