A program based on interactive reading strategies enhanced with graphic designs to develop deep reading comprehension skills and academic ambition among pre-service teacher.
The aim of the current research is to determine the effectiveness of a training program based on interactive reading strategies enhanced with graphic designs to develop deep reading comprehension skills and academic ambition among student teachers. To achieve the research goal, a deep reading comprehension skills test and an academic ambition scale were constructed. This was applied to a group of students from the Arabic Language Division (general and basic) at the Faculty of Education at New Valley University, secondary stage. Their number reached (fifty) students, As the research adopted the experimental design with one experimental group, the differences between the pre- and post-applications of the experimental group to test deep reading comprehension skills were statistically significant at a significance level (0.01) in favor of the post-application, and statistically significant differences between the pre- and post-applications of the experimental group for the Academic Ambition Scale. At a significance level of (0.01) in favor of the post-application. This indicates the effectiveness of the training program in developing deep reading comprehension skills and academic ambition among students of the Arabic Language Division at the College of Education. The research reached a set of recommendations, including: the necessity of paying attention to educational programs that are based on interactive reading strategies enhanced with graphic designs to develop the various language skills of student teachers at the College of Education.
