Structural model of relationship between psychological capital, academic burnout, and emotional innovation among gifted pupils in prep school

The study aimed to identify the relationship between psychological capital, academic burnout, and emotional creativity among gifted preparatory stage students. It also sought to construct a structural model illustrating the interrelationships between these variables. The sample consisted of 460 second-year preparatory students from "El-Shaheed Hamdy Preparatory School for Boys," affiliated with the East Kafr El-Sheikh Educational Administration in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate. Their ages ranged from 14 to 15 years, with a mean age of 14.48 years and a standard deviation of 0.61. The research employed the Colored Progressive Matrices Test developed by Raven (adapted and standardized by Emad Hassan, 2016), the Gifted Identification Manual by Amal Abdel-Samie Bazah (2012), and three researcher-developed scales: the Psychological Capital Scale, the Academic Burnout Scale, and the Emotional Creativity Scale. The findings revealed a statistically significant positive correlation at the 0.01 level between psychological capital and its dimensions and emotional creativity and its dimensions. A statistically significant negative correlation was also found at the 0.01 level between psychological capital and its dimensions and academic burnout and its dimensions. Additionally, a statistically significant negative correlation was observed at the 0.01 level between emotional creativity and its dimensions and academic burnout and its dimensions. Based on these results, a structural model was developed to illustrate the relationships among psychological capital, emotional creativity, and academic burnout in gifted preparatory students.
