Student's attitudes towards the use of Web 2 technologies in the classroom in Saudi Arabia

Abstract

The present study aimed to identify the attitudes of students - forensic science teachers - towards the use of Web 2 technologies in the classroom, and the factors affecting them. To achieve this objective, a mixed method was used to include both quantitative and qualitative approaches. Factors affecting trends in the use of Web2 technologies were identified through the study tools of questionnaires, interviews and direct observations through field visits. After verifying the validity and stability of these tools and applying them to a sample of students of forensic science teachers, a number of results were reached, the most important of which are:
- There are three main factors that have a direct impact on the direction of the student teacher in the specialty of forensic science to use web applications 2, namely conviction, the impact of the school community or the influence of others, efficiency, or ability to use, and that the most influential is the conviction of use.
- The results of the study showed that there is a weakness in the practice of web applications 2 in the classroom, despite the positive attitudes of the participants, and that one of the main negative factors that contributed to this; is the lack of technical equipment in the classroom.
- The study recommended the need to activate the role of technical and technical support units in the education departments and vocational centers and the need to pay attention to the study of negative factors that hindered the application of students forensic science teachers of those applications.
