A proposed enrichment program to develop the artistic expression skills of gifted pupils in the primary stage

Abstract

This research aims at constructing a program that enriches the artistic skills of talented pupils in the elementary stage. It also aims at assessing the effectiveness of the programs in developing these artistic skills by applying some of its units.
The research has Followed an experimental constructive methodology.

The constructive methodology includes:

a)      A definition of the objectives of the program.
b)     A plan of the teaching units.
c)      A plan of the evaluation tools that include observation cards for pupils' artistic activities and products.

The experimental methodology:

a)      Examines and tests the evaluation tools of the program.
b)     Defines the appropriate methodology which is one group pre-test and post-test.
c)      Defines the purposeful sample which consists of (20) talented artistic pupils in the 4th and 5th primary grades in a public school in Riyadh.
The research has reached the fallowing finding:

The Tukey-HSD-Test was applied to assess the development in the artistic expression of the sample pupils. It was observed that there were seven statistical discrepancies at level (5) in the (5) activities made by the pupils.
The Tukey-HSD-Test was applied to assess the artistic product in the (5) activities made by the sample pupils. It was observed that there were eight statistical discrepancies at the level of (5) in the artistic products of the pupils.
By applying the T-test, it was observed that there were statistical discrepancies at the level of (5) between the Pre-Test and the Post-Test in favor of the Post –test of the artistic products of the pupils.

  The research has made a lots of recommendations and constructing for anther researches.
